Talk about Customer Service!

The Wednesday before Thanksgiving, I had a doctor's appointment...and let me just say I left very disgruntled. My appointment was at 10:30 that morning and I arrived promtly at 10:30. There were already 3 people in the waiting room for one doctor when I walked in....*sigh*...great.

So the waiting begins.....

Two more people come in after me, which brings us to a grand total of 6 people waiting for 3 exam rooms and one doctor.

Did I mention that this is a doctor that only women go to? Get my drift, no boys allowed. So needless to say, I wasn't too excited to be there to begin with and now I'm having to wait.

After waiting for an hour and a half, I was finally ushered back to the exam room. It took me longer to take my clothes off to get ready for the procedure than the actual procedure itself.

ARRGHHHH! Then I had to drive home 3 and a half hours after that experience....oh the joys of being a woman.

Sad, but true

Last night, I was doing what I typically do on a Monday night....being a total couch potato in front of the tv. Then it dawned on me that I hadn't spoken to my best friend, Karen, today. Our friendship is definitely one of a kind, and what I mean by this is, we are total opposites. She's extremely girlie and I'm more of the tomboy. She likes sports, whereas, I LOVE SPORTS (even though I never played them). The list goes on and on....

But as we were talking last night, doing the usual ranting and raving about the opposite sex, she said something so profound to me. Something that made sense and I completely wondered why the thought hadn't crossed my mind. She said (in her ever so cute high voice) "Women think too much and men don't think enough."

That was an "a-ha" moment for me. So as all women do, I began thinking. I'm in a situation right now that I've never been in before. I have a gentleman friend, whom I care deeply for. But sometimes I think he gets the raw end of the deal when it comes to me. I'm so analytical, that I everything he says, I pick it apart. When in reality, I just need to cut him a break. I have this habit of making life difficult for those around me and since knowing me, I think he's figured that one out.

But here's the thing: I'm so tired of having to appologize to him...should I have to keep appologizing for my faults? It's not often that he does. He just tells me like it is, and in his words, "I'm an asshole, kid." So shouldn't I have the right to say, "I'm just analytical, kid."

Ugh, I hate being this way, and to my gentleman friend (if you actually read this), I'm going to do something else I hate... I'm sorry for giving you a hard time. Bottom line is, I'm not in control and neither are you...there's something larger that controls our fate right now. Let's see where this ride takes us.

Assume= ass outta you and me

So, I caught a bit of the news last night on Fox News Channel. They were discussing the ever prevalent (in Alabama) Natalee Holloway case. Appearantly, Governor Riley is calling for a boycott on all travel to Aruba. The news clip stated that 75% of Alabamaians were supportive of this boycott.....I don't ever remember being asked what my opinion was.....

Which brings me to my point....I hate the news media.

Here's the Skinny on me....

I'm just a simple Southern girl...born and raised in South Carolina, and no we're not the red-headed step child of the Carolinas. Currently living in Alabama, in perhaps, one of the smallest towns I've ever seen, I work for Jacksonville State University in the Department of University Housing and Residene Life. Needless to say, life is very interesting with the characters I see every day. I think those stories alone could fill up this blog for weeks!

Anywho, considering the fact that Fall is here, I must say that I'm a die-hard College Football fan, more specifically, a South Carolina Gamecocks FAN, and following the rules of my dear friend Cap, this is my team for College Football. Surprisingly, unlike others, my alma mater is not my first love. Although, JSU does hold a special place in my heart. Does it matter if they are in different divisions? Can you be a fan of more than one team in that situation? I need a judge's ruling on this one. With that being said, I am an Auburn Tigers supporter and some might say that I have a new school, being THE OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY. Once again, jury's still out on that one.....
